About Talk & Trace Consulting

An advisory practice built around management systems that work.

Talk & Trace Consulting is an independent management systems and business excellence practice. We work with leadership teams across manufacturing, life sciences, food, aerospace, energy, and professional services to make quality, governance, risk, and compliance a working part of the business rather than an annual scramble.

Most organisations do not need more documentation. They need systems that reflect how work actually happens, evidence that stands up under scrutiny, and people who understand how to keep those systems effective and current.

Practical roots

Our experience is rooted in the automotive industry, with expertise spanning quality management systems, procurement, supplier auditing, Supplier Technical Assistance (STA), risk management, process improvement and the automotive Core Tools, including APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA and SPC. We also bring Lead Auditor expertise in IATF 16949 and ISO 9001, with practical experience of audit planning, field and supplier audits, nonconformance management and supporting organisations through external scrutiny.

How we work

That practical experience shapes the way we work. We focus on understanding how your business actually operates, identifying where the risks and gaps are, and helping your team build processes that are practical, sustainable and capable of standing up to scrutiny.

Deliberately focused

We are deliberately focused: quality management, governance, operational excellence, risk, and compliance readiness. Every engagement is scoped, priced, and closed out clearly, with your team in the lead so that capability stays in-house.

Principles

Four commitments that govern every engagement.

  • Independence

We advise. We never certify, audit for accreditation, or hold a commercial interest in the outcome of your audit.

  • Evidence over opinion

Recommendations are traceable to clause requirements, records, and what an auditor will reasonably expect to see.

  • Proportionality

Frameworks are sized to your organisation. Enough structure to satisfy scrutiny, not so much that nobody follows it.

  • Transparency

Scope, deliverables, timelines, and fees are agreed before work starts. No open-ended retainers, no scope drift.

We do not publish client names, certifications, or performance claims that have not been provided to us and approved in writing.

How we work

A short path from uncertainty to a clear, costed plan.

Four steps, no drawn-out discovery phase. Most clients move from first call to agreed scope within two weeks.

  1. 01

    Strategy session

Twenty minutes on your audit timeline, open findings, and where the system feels thin. No preparation needed.

  2. 02

    Focused assessment

We review the relevant processes and records, then give you a prioritised picture of risk and effort.

  3. 03

    Defined engagement

Scope, deliverables, and price agreed in writing before any work starts. No open-ended retainers.

  4. 04

    Work the plan together

Coaching, closure support, or monthly advisory — delivered with your team in the lead so knowledge stays in-house.
